YEAH, THAILAND

I guess by now you have come to realize that I am absolutely in love with Thailand. The food is delicious and you can find all kinds of delicious food, not only Thai. It has beautiful weather, although at times a bit too hot. The people are all so very accommodating and considerate. The massages are great and reasonably priced. Their temples are gorgeous and kept up. To say the least Thailand is a really nice place to spend a month in.

We went to Pai, which is a small town in Northern Thailand, which sits in a valley and is nearby the Myanmar Boarder. It took a three hour car drive to get there and it was well worth it. The town is the quintessential back packer haven with a lot of stores, restaurants and bars. Really nice. We went tubbing down the Pai River, which was a lot of fun. We went to see the Long Neck Karens. They are a hill tribe that originally came from Myanmar who fled to Thailand due to persecution. They are refugees who cannot seek regular work in Thailand. This is where you will find women who at the age of five start to wear metal rings around their necks, which elongates their necks. There is some controversy as to whether it is politically correct for people to go to gawk at them as some would characterize it, but for me, this is a way that they can support themselves. They charge an entrance fee and sell handwoven goods and crafts and In this way they are able to use tourism to generate income.

We are here until the 24th of this month. We are leaving early to go to Kuala Lumpur, which should be interesting. Kind of sorry that I am leaving so early in the month. But I had no idea that I would enjoy this place so much. I guess it means that I will have to find a time to make my way back here sometime in the future.

Try to enjoy one aspect every day of your life! Something grand or something very small, but smile, laugh, find something beautiful in your day or in your life and just live your life to the fullest! You will live longer that way and if not, at least you lived a full and joyful life. Life is not merely surviving!!!!!
