RAIN, RAIN AND MORE RAIN

Rain, Rain, Rain

Medellin is beautiful, it really is. But it has been raining almost everyday. We have been trying to go to another location in Colombia or even another country that is close by, but everywhere we can get a straight flight to out of Medellin is also raining. We have been considering San Andres, a Colombian island, which has a straight flight and really reasonably priced, but it is supposed to rain everyday as well. But at least it would be a change in scenery. Not sure what we are going to do, maybe take a drive to another town in Colombia, stay a day or two, but we are ready for a change. Thinking about where to go, doing research, finding flights, places to stay, what to see piddles away the time.

Medellin in the Rain

All I have to say is that traveling helps me keep my thoughts away from my health issues. If I was home, which I have been told is also experiencing rain almost every day, I would have nothing to distract me from my own thoughts. Thinking can become your own worst enemy. So, if you are ill and even if you are not, but you cannot get out of your own head, your thoughts keep spiraling out of control, and you find that meditation is not for you, then find something that you love to do. If you have not found that one thing you love to do, then try something different, something that you have never done before and you may find that one thing that will get you focusing on something other than your illness, your problems, your fears. And if you do not find it right away, then try something else and even the process alone of trying new things may lighten your day. I found traveling works for me. Find something and enjoy your life for as long as you can.

Next month we are going to Guatemala. I hope the weather is better.
