OH NO, HERE WE GO AGAIN

In 2017, once again I found a lump, but this time in my left breast.

I had a lumpectomy and luckily nothing spread and all the margins were clean. I now only needed radiation. But which one to chose? I chose to have the Brachi therapy form of radiation.  This is where they put in these rods going straight through your breast, the rods surround the cavity made from the lumpectomy and they radiate just that area. Very painful with only local anesthesia, I do not recommend doing it without being put out. But it is a procedure I would definitely recommend.  Not the usual 6 weeks of radiation, but only 5 days of radiation, twice a day. It also allows you to have more radiation on the same breast if you ever have a re-occurrence of cancer in that breast. The second cancer was a totally different type of cancer than the one I had earlier, go figure.
