NOSARA HERE WE COME

We take a small Sansa flight and we are now in Nosara, Guanacaste Province. This is where we are looking at a development in order to perhaps buy a property and build a home.  It is a community that will have a gate and a common area with a pool, a yoga studio, a gym, tennis courts and such.  The layout looks good, (nothing is built yet, which we were surprised to find out), but the homes are a bit too close to each other for our taste.  We go to C.R. For the animal life and to be alone where it is quiet and peaceful. The lots are an acre plus, but the development is on a mountain, so a lot of land is unusable within the acre.

Nosara is not what we expected.  It a lovely town, great beaches, five different beaches to be exact, an expat population that is half of the population of the town and they are an extremely wealthy group. This area of C.R. is extremely dry six months out of the year and does not have the abundance of animals that we so desire to see when we are in C.R..  Oh, did I mention how hot it is, it is hot!!  It makes Florida’s weather feel cool. We are just not sure of how to proceed.  The area seems to be an area worth investing in, it is flourishing and there is a great deal of building going on. But then do we want an investment in a foreign country that we may not want to come back to.  Nosara has developed into an area that you can live in and not have to deal with the C. R. people.  You can almost feel like you are in the states. It is almost like living in an American Disney Land in C.R.  Not for us, as far as a second home is concerned.  Life is full of decisions and the more you experience as a person, the more decisions you will have to make.

I must say that after three weeks I feel good on the new Cancer regiment.  The two pills I am now taking are agreeing with me.  The problem that I have is that I do not know if it is stopping the spread of the Cancer, I do not believe that this treatment will eradicate cancer that I already have, because it attacks fast multiplying cells, which is what cancer cells do, but I may be wrong.  I will not know until after I return from my trip and take more tests. I am scheduled to see the doctor the day after I return.  Therefore, I may be taking this very toxic medicine, that can do as much harm as good, without even knowing if it is working.  It sucks, but what can I do?

Just to let you know, we will not be buying any property in Nosara. The development was not at a stage to buy.  It had very little infrastructure and none of the legal documentation necessary to establish a community development. Nothing was available for review.  One thing I learned long ago as a real state attorney, never believe in promises without binding contractual obligations to fulfill those promises when there is money involved.
