MEDELLIN, COLOMBIA

I am here for almost a week now and it appears that this is the first time I am blogging. I must be having fun, time did fly. This place is unexpectedly beautiful and fun, even though I have been here before. Well my health seems to be holding. Getting sores in my mouth due to my medication, but if that is all, I am doing fantastic.

Our friends from Austin, Texas has come in to visit us for almost a week. We were able to get a two bedroom, two bath so that they could stay with us. I guess that is the reason I have not had time to blog. We have gone to the Botero Plaza where there are 14+ large statutes that Fernando Botero donated to the city. He comes from Medellin. The museum, Antioquia Museum, houses all of his paintings and small sculptures that he donated to the city of Medellin. We have been eating wonderful food equal to, if not better, then the food in the U.S. for half the price, and the bars and clubs have not been disappointing. Do not expect to lose weight here.

TRAVEL NOTE. Medellin is so cosmopolitan, so lively, so many restaurants, bars, clubs and such all within walking distance, that it makes hot spots in America look drab. the food is wonderful and reasonably priced. The people are also so nice and outgoing. Oh not to forget to mention, the place is also known as the City of Internal Spring due to its fabulous weather. If you need a new place to check out, try Medellin you will not be disappointed.
