KUALA LUMPUR

Kuala Lumpur is a city that is going through a total renaissance; so many new buildings, shopping centers and walking areas. Look outside your window and all you see is cranes. The city is booming with new construction. Not to say that there are no old structures in the city, there were many. There were Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist and Tao Temples. Statues every where you look. A china town. So many places to go and see that we never did get out of the City.

We all took a tour of the City. Went to the Botanical Gardens, the national mosque, took a hop on, hop off bus. Of course we went to the Petronas twin towers; two of the most beautiful architectural buildings ever to be constructed. Went to food street, bar street and so many other places. Oh, and did I tell you that Malaysian food is one of the best foods I have ever eaten. The roof top bars were wonderful as well. It was a great time.

I would have liked to have gotten out of the City. I was hopping to go to Penang, but we had time restrictions. So I will just have to return one of these days. I hope to come back with a friend of mine who has lived here and who had given me the best recommendations ever regarding what to do and where to eat while we were here. I shall return!

I have a bucket full of places I still want to go to, but hopefully I shall get back to Kuala Lumpur. I shall keep making plans and keep on traveling for as long as I can. I have my restrictions due to my health, but I shall try not to allow it to stop me. I have to go home every three months to get a pet scan and I will. I may have to change my medication from time to time and that I will do. But I will not live from doctor appointment to doctor appointment. I will not allow the cancer to take over my life and cause me to fear to live. I will live everyday trying to find meaning and enjoyment. I will not stop until, I cannot physically continue. Hopefully, that day never comes!!!

If you have cancer at any stage, live your life to the fullest!! Do not allow it to win while you have the ability to enjoy life. Remember; Life is not merely surviving!!!
